The page browser shows a thumbnail of every page in the PDF, so you can see what you're picking before you create the material. For longer documents, use the range field to jump straight to the page you want.
You can add more than one PDF file in the same session and work through their pages together.
If a page you import would create a material with a name that's already in your model, you're asked whether to replace its texture in place or create a separate new material instead.
Replacing keeps any existing assignments of that material in your model — only the texture updates.
